Re: Suspected Code Violations: Wiesbaden Hot Springs Spa & Lodging
Field inspections for EMF determinations were conducted during the winter of 2004-2005 at the Wiesbaden Spa revealing the following conditions submitted to you for verification, reinspection and remediation to insure safety and conformity to code:
A. Wiring throughout the premises indicates the presence of Net Current. Preliminary investigation and highest levels of observed fields were through a large blue conductor in the ceiling of the basement exercise room...possibly a service cable to a subpanel. Detection of magnetic fields through relevant meters can only be due to Net Current sources in such instances. Whereas the magnetic fields are not yet an assigned responsibility to your jurisdiction, it is assumed the Net Fields are.B. Similar Net Current passages were detected at lower levels in the outlying rooms (adjacent to the lodge).
C. The bare wires in the exercise room ceiling and elsewhere would appear to be a violation of conduit encasement requirements for such conductors in commercial establishments.
D. The "Octopus" configuration servicing the myriad reception desk appliances at the main lobby reception desk appears for safety reasons to be very inadvisable and a possible risk. If there are code stipulations regarding employee exposures to, proximity, overloading or danger from such configurations, it would seem in the interest of protecting those who work there from such dangers.
