the E.I. Land Steward Program

Regional Invasive Species Firewood Suppliers

(note: this list is provisional. Not all contacts supplied here have tamarisk and olive available. They may be reputable firewood suppliers recommended to us by private parties and not yet contacted for program participation or if they have, they may not yet have stock available. You can help from your end by contacting them, asking for invasive species firewood and if not available, encourage them to start stocking it. As time and your efforts as well as theirs and ours progress, this will become a regional resource base for conversion to invasive sources.)

Mike Potter (Potter Ranch) (626-5540) a side-line firewood supplier recommended as reputable by Ouray clients. note: mike has not been contacted at this time by Smart Shelter (5mar04) nor is he necessarily represented as a source for invasive species firewoods. He is presented here on the basis of his community reputation as a supplier. If you are in the Ouray/Ridgway area and wish to encourage him to start providing these woods, contact him and suggest he get ahold of either Smart Shelter, the BLM or the Colorado Division of Wildlife (Delta-Escalante Unite-Mike Zeman) to procure access to tamarisk and russian olive sources.
